Joining me on the Arctic tonight is Max Kohane aka Crumbs in solo mode and one half of Brain Children, a duo with Mikey Squires from Eddy Current Suppression Ring. Combine the Eddy Current connection with Max’s drumming in Grindcore outfit Agents Of Abhorrence, and the first thing that comes to mind when you imagine a solo project isn’t amazing psychedelic beatscapes that wave their hat at Axelrod and Jay Dee while galloping merrily to the future. But that’s just what you’ll find on Pieces & Portions Vol 1, Max’s 7 track EP that you can download for free on his Bandcamb page. We had a bit of a chat about Max’s musical endeavours past and present (He produced for Macromantics and early beats for Catcall) and then he laid down an wildly eclectic and enchanting mix of his favourite songs.
